BISS 05.17.12 - Nicki Bluhm /Soulive & Lettuce / Dead Winter Carpenters / Tea Leaf Green / West Coast Ramble


As the fog rolls back to San Francisco, the BISS crew prepares for another action packed week in the Bay Area. Why? Because I Said So!

Thursday, pull the van up to The Independent for the first night of a two night run with BODEANS, NICKI BLUHM & THE GRAMBLERS (*WIN). Music this awesome is sure to get you ready for the weekend.

Friday, The Fillmore is the place to be with the awesomeness that is SOULIVE & LETTUCE (WIN). Remember to spin the lettuce! Some might be at THE DEAD WINTER CARPENTERS at Slim's (*WIN). Everyone will converge late night at The Boom Boom Room for RODINA featuring JOE TATTON of New Mastersounds (*WIN) going til the weeeeeeeeee hours of the morning. 

Then again, you also have TEA LEAF GREEN playing Friday night at The New Parish (*WIN) Gotta love that the hardest thing about living the bay area is having too many awesome musical choices!!! No matter what you choose, its always the right one!

Saturday there is a second serving of SOULIVE & LETTUCE (*WIN) as well as the darkness that is BLACK SABBATH PARANOID with over 50 Bay Area musicians performing the works of Black Sabbath at The Independent (*WIN). And Greg Lake of Emerson Lake & Palmer is playing at the Regency! (*WIN)

Also on Saturday night, you can still catch a night of the PHIL LESH'S WEST COAST RAMBLE run featuring CHRIS ROBINSON at Terrapin Crossroads.

Also this weekend is the JOSHUA TREE MUSIC FESTIVAL featuring For Knox Five, Gaudi, Wunmi, Sierra Leone's Refugee All Stars, See-i, Sarazino, Nickodemus, Breakestra, Morning Teleportation, Cumbia Tokeson, Ian Winters, and many more. It is time to get this Festival season started peeps!

Sunday's show at The Independent will be out of this world. Check out THE UFO TRIBUTE BAND featuring MIKE MCCREADY from Pearl Jam. Look out for aliens riding bikes. Or stop by The Moss House in Oakland for food and a show with the DINNER AND A SHOW SERIES featuring DEAD KEYS, MITCH STEIN, AND SAM JOHNSTON and a HOGS N' ROCKS menu courtesy of Chef Jeff.

Monday wouldn't be Monday without THE MIKE OLMOS at The Union Room. Wednesday THE DEDICATED MANIACS are playing at Sweetwater Music Hall.
