Dear 2017 - I know we barely even know each other, so it may be presumptuous for me to start asking for favors, but do you think you could try to be a bit kinder than 2016? (not to mention the end of 2015) I understand that this is just life and sometimes it's hard...but maybe a little less cruelty by the time you hand me off to 2018?
Almost anyone you ask experienced personal loss of friends & family--human & otherwise. We also collectively lost some amazingly great talents who touched the whole world including (but not limited to) a number of musicians, writers, actors, comedians, a sports figure or two and believe it or not multiple astronauts...(sans politically) Starting and ending this list with the two (imho) most epic: David Bowie, Alan Rickman, Glen Frey, Abe Vigoda, Paul Kantner, Vanity, Harper Lee, Keith Emerson, Frank Sinatra Jr, Pete Fountain, Edgar Mitchell, Leonard Cohen, Florence Henderson, Greg Lake, Garry Shandling, Merle Haggard, Leon Russell, Muhammad Ali, Donald E. Williams, Piers Sellers, John Glenn, Gordie Howe, Garry Marshall, Gene Wilder, Zsa Zsa Gabor, George Michael, Carrie Fisher, Debbie Reynolds, & Prince
Fun Fact that you don't give a Sh** about? MIT Researchers say 2016 Didn't Have More Famous Deaths Than Usual. IN fact, it was below expected... (the number of famous people dying has been increasing pretty much linearly since 2000) HOwever, the level of mega famous was higher than normal (they "say" 16) so it just "feels" like more... Yeah, sure, whatever... 2016 sucked. 2017 can do better! (we give you the go ahead on Charlie)
So here we are ready to move on and hang out with you for the next year. And while some of us (quite a few I know) may be starting out with injuries and surgeries and other life challenges to sort out, we have a whole year to get back on track.
In conclusion... I humbly ask you please 2017, please, if you wouldn't mind, please cut us all a break and be a little gentler? We would all appreciate your leniency... If not, Sunny is gonna glitter bomb you!
