Happy June BISS LIsters! June means street fairs and festivals a plenty all over SF and beyond! There's... Haight-Ashbury Street Fair (10th), DocFest (6th - 14th), San Francisco Jazz Festival(6th - 17th), Fairfax Festival (9th-10th), San Francisco Black Film Festival (15th-17th), San Francisco Juneteenth (16th), North Beach Festival (16th - 17th), Stern Grove Festival (17th - Aug 19th), San Francisco Pride Celebration & Pride Parade (23rd-24th), Fillmore Jazz Festival(30th - July 1st) & of course, who could forget... the Northern California Soy and Tofu Festival (30th) and that's just naming a few here....
Personally, I am excited for the Haight-Ashbury Fair this weekend because it's the second year in a row my dear and long-time bestie, Sunny Powers and her store Love On Haight will be sponsoring the Masonic Street Stage. I will be spending most of my day there with all my faves starting at 11am with El Metate, Tracorum, & Katdelic. Then before the last set there will be a Love On Haight Fashion show. Then the Masonic stage will close out with Moonalice... At the same time, closing out the Stanyan Stage is Jackson Saints & Friends featuring longtime friend and fave BISS musician, Shaunna Hall with Pearl Harbour, Penelope Houston, Jimmy Crucifix, Cyril Jordan & Brad. Curated by Eddie Jennings. Paying homage to iconic 80s Haight Street nightclubs, Nightbreak and The I-Beam. We will also be celebrating Miss Sunny Powers Birthday that day along with Casey Sol, Gina Hall, & Rebecca Z! Happy Birthday to all you lovelies! Can't wait to celebrate with you!
